Timing is Everything: Chelsea Shag’s New Single Makes a Big Impact

Chelsea Shag fans have a new song to get excited about. At the end of May, the talented singer, songwriter and producer released “Time to Get Strange,” a single that not only embodies the passion and imagination of Chelsea, but also fits well with the times.

In “Time to Get Strange,” Chelsea asks if happiness is found in someone else’s lives. She writes of questioning life and philosophies, ultimately finding the answer is that “It’s time to make a change, it’s time to get strange.”

“I feel it’s more important than ever before to spread a message of love through my music,” Chelsea says. “I’m not afraid to sing my truth because people need to hear the truth.”

The words of the song fit well with the movements and changes we’re experiencing right now as a society, but they also mirror the changes going on in Chelsea’s career. She speaks of finding herself, wanting to go all out, to scream and shout. This song puts her passions out there and reflects the power of her own personal convictions.

“Time to Get Strange” also marks Chelsea’s debut in producing music for herself, a big step for the artist who is helping reinvent the image of females in music. Chelsea not only has a unique songwriting and catchy guitar style but also a talent for the business side of music. Her work draws comparisons to other artist/producers like Pharrell Williams and Jacob Collier.
