Madison Records Re-Releases Fozzy Albums
Madison Records, along with Fozzy LLC, is excited to re-release a pair of albums from super group Fozzy, All That Remains and Chasing The Grail. Featuring vocalist Chris Jericho and guitarist Rich Ward, Fozzy has amassed over 60 million video views, 60 million streams, and four Top 10 singles at Active Rock radio over their career.
All That Remains was initially released in Jan 2005 and was the band's first all original album. Ward wrote all of the music and melodies while Jericho wrote the lyrics, along with contributions from Siren drummer Ed Aborn and producer Rick Beato. Fozzy manager Mark Willis noted, "My favorite factoid about this record was Rich and Chris discussing how there were so many collaborations in rap and country music, but not in rock. As visionaries do, they acted by bringing in Zakk Wylde, Mark Tremonti, Marty Friedman and a little known singer at the time, Myles Kennedy, to guest on the record. Handling everything ourselves for the first time" Willis continued, "created a necessary first step in the bands new direction".
Behind the success of lead single 'Enemy', the album went on to sell 100,000 copies and was praised by both consumer and industry magazines including BILLBOARD: "All that Remains fully embraces the shredding guitars, crafty hooks, and pumping beats that make old school metal great."
In 2009, after extensive touring throughout the United States, Europe, and Australia, FOZZY began working on their next album, Chasing the Grail. The album was released in January 2010 by Riot Entertainment, Fozzy's distributor in Australia. According to Jericho, "For the first time, Fozzy had both a ballad (70s style Southern rock-type tune 'Broken Soul'), and a 14-minute epic (prog rock-inspired tune 'Wormwood') on the same album."
Produced by Ward, Chasing The Grail reached considerable commercial and critical success. "We tried to find that fine line for the songs where the music and the melody were both important. We treated them as equals, and I think a track like 'Let the Madness Begin' was that perfect balance between hard rock melodic vocals and a big metal riff." said Ward.
"For me, this was FOZZY's first real record and songs like 'God Pounds His Nails' and 'Martyr No More' still hold up against any band; anywhere, anytime!" exclaimed Willis. "I am so glad to be able to put these records back out for all to hear and enjoy."
