Forrest Isn’t Dead Releases New Single: “Fire”

A creepy warehouse elevator. Haunting organ music. Fluorescent lights flickering from the ceiling. There’s no denying the horror movie vibe you get watching the video for “Fire.” From the opening credits’ “Stranger Things” feel to final shot of a fire burning what looks like might possibly be a person, the video is as intense as the music from the single itself.

“I’ve always really been into horror movies, and it just seemed natural to me to create a music video that took its cues from my favorite genre,” Forrest says. Working with Mac Grant and Chad Tennies of Resolve Media, Forrest brought the feel and intensity of the horror movies he loves to life in the video. “Filming was a lot of fun. I just really enjoyed the whole experience and learned a lot from watching the directors set up the scenes and work through the shots.”

That same passion and intensity flares through the song’s entire track. “Getting out there to do what your passionate about takes a lot of perseverance,” Forrest says. “I know that for me, putting my music out to the public feels like being put to the test constantly, getting close to the fire, trying to catch the flame without getting burnt, and that’s what I wanted to come across in this song.”

“Fire” will be one of the songs on the upcoming album Forrest is working on with partners Matt Vassy and Wes Green, and producers Tanner Hendon, Wyatt Oates and Alex Aldi. Like many artists, Forrest took advantage of his time away from touring and live performances during the pandemic to focus on his music, and the album slated to come out in early 2022 will showcase Forrest’s growth as an artist.

“I feel more locked in with the world of sound I created,” Forrest says. “What used to be more of an idea in my head I’ve now solidified and feel stronger than ever in my music. It’s really all about keeping on, and moving forward, and that’s what I try to convey through my music.”

Forrest hits the road this fall to promote the new single and is looking forward to getting back on stage in front of a live audience. “There’s just nothing like playing in front of an audience,” Forrest says. “It’s very energizing and exciting. I feel a connection with the fans when I play, and it just feels like where I’m supposed to be.”
